Stefflon Don has unveiled a new single, just hours ahead of a slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury – you can hear it below.

‘Move It’ offers listeners a taste of the rapper’s long-awaited debut record, Island 54, which is expected late this year. A typically punchy track, the single looks likely to set the tone for one of thee most hotly anticipated British debuts of recent years. She will likely air the track live later today (June 23) at Worthy Farm, when she takes to Glastonbury’s main stage at around 14:45.

The new track will have a familiar feel too many, sampling as it does Reel 2 Real’s 1993 classic ‘I Like to Move It’. Production on Stefflon’s song was handled by multi-platinum duo Space Primates. “Reel 2 Real’s ‘I Like To Move’ is one of the most instantly recognisable songs of all time, so it was an honour to have the chance to reimagine the original and bring my own flavour to it,” said Don, real nam Stephanie Allen. “I had a lot of fun creating the track with the gifted Space Primates, and there was little doubt that this was the perfect record to launch my comeback with. I wanna see you all move it this summer!”

Despite her debut album remaining in the pipeline, Allen is already a MOBO Award winner, having picked up Best Female as far back as 2017. Over the course of the past year, she’s dropped a number of big-hitting singles, including ‘Dem Dead’, ‘Clockwork’ and ‘The One’. The Birmingham star is expected to release Island 54 later this year, although no firm releasee date has yet been set. “With this project, I’m taking it a lot more seriously,” she told Hunger in 2021, in reference to Island 54. “I just spent more time on it and thought, ‘What do I really love? And what do my family and friends really love the most?’”

“We’ve been working on this for a good two years, so I can’t wait to let it out to the world,” she went on. “It’s just a vibe.”
