The Smile have shared a new single called ‘Friend Of A Friend’, as well as announcing a string of cinema album playback events for their upcoming second album.

The latest track from the group – Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner – comes as The Smile gear up to release their second album Wall of Eyes on January 26, the follow-up to their 2022 debut A Light For Attracting Attention.

The latest track, meanwhile, offers a slow-building ambience and comes alongside a music video from legendary director Paul Thomas Anderson. You can watch that below.

Today, the group have also announced a string of Wall of Eyes cinema album playback events, which begin later this month.

Between January 18-25, fans can listen to Wall Of Eyes’ in surround sound for the first time, while also watch unreleased footage of recording sessions for the album, the world film premiere of ‘Friend Of A Friend’ and a presentation of ‘Wall Of Eyes’, both helmed by Anderson and shot on 35mm film.
