The View were forced to abandon the first show of their UK comeback tour last night (May 11) after a vicious fight broke out in the group.

The Scottish indie band were playing a sold-out date at Manchester’s Deaf Institute when frontman Kyle Falconer appeared to punch bassist Kieren Webster, after apparently growing agitated with his bandmate throughout the gig.

In footage shared on social media, Falconer appears to land a punch on Webster’s face, before he is held back by bandmate Peter Reilly and members of the group’s road crew. At one point, Falconer is heard to shout: ‘I’ll fucking kill you’.

Another clip shows Falconer returning to play ‘Face For The Radio’ for the group’s encore, which he pauses to demand Webster’s return to the stage.

“The problem with this band is he wants to sing the songs and he canny, right, so I’ll see you later,” he tells the crowd.

Falconer then left the stage, although crew members reportedly tried to unsuccessfully secure his return, with the show ending several songs early.

The band were set to perform this evening (May 11) at the Oslo Hackney venue in London, but that show has now been postponed.

The group are currently scheduled to make a string of festival appearances this summer.
