The Weeknd is set to appear in an upcoming episode of ‘The Simpsons’, Abel Tesfaye has confirmed.

According to Pitchfork, the artist will portray the character Orion Hughes in an episode of the show’s 33rd season titled ‘Bart The Cool Kid’, which will air on March 20.

The episode is set to see Homer Simpson and the other dads of Springfield fighting against a streetwear influencer in town. It will also see ‘Prison Break’ star Michael Rapaport making a guest appearance.

Confirming the news on Twitter, The Weeknd quote tweeted a fan account who shared the news, writing that he was “proud of this one”.

Speaking to Variety in 2020, Tesfaye said that an appearance on ‘The Simpsons’ was on his “bucket list,” adding: “That would be a dream — and if they’re reading this, I actually have a pretty cool idea if they’re down.”

Elsewhere, The Weeknd has shared details of a stadium tour with his previous collaborator Doja Cat.

Abel Tesfaye will head out on a North American tour in support of his latest two albums, 2020’s ‘After Hours’ and 2022’s ‘Dawn FM‘. The ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ replaces thwarted 2020 dates for ‘After Hours’ during the pandemic, finally giving Tesfaye the chance to air that material.

It kicks off in The Weeknd‘s hometown of Toronto on July 8 before wrapping at his adopted home of Los Angeles on September 2. Doja Cat, who has collaborated with Tesfaye on ‘You Right’ and ‘In Your Eyes (Remix)’, joins on support for all 18 dates.
