One of the biggest awards of the night at the ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards 2025The Album Award, supported by ZYN – has gone to FKA twigs for EUSEXUA.

Upon its release in January, Rolling Stone UK gave the album five stars out of five, writing: “As an example of music’s ability to offer power and strength, it’s a superbly powerful statement on the power of joining her on the dancefloor and finding a higher plane.”

Picking up the award tonight, twigs said: “Thank you so much. I always think that to be an artist you’ve got to be quite delusional and I feel I was quite delusional because I still feel like a new artist, I really feel like I’ve just started.”

Twigs then reflected on her early days working at Proud Galleries in Camden as a resident singer and her desire to become a recording artist at that point, after striking a deal with the owner to allow her studio time.

She added: “I want to pay tribute to all the friends at the beginning, my new management team and friends along the way. Lewis [Koreless, producer] because maxing Eusexua was tender, we became brother and sister and working so hard until 4AM. It’s just so amazing, thank you so much to everyone who has supported me.”

The award win comes a week after twigs released EUSEXUA companion album, Afterglow. In our review of Afterglow, we said: “The story and universe of Eusexua deepens as FKA twigs fully learns to let go.”

The third ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards 2025 kicked off earlier tonight with a performance from Myles Smith, who also won The Breakthrough Award. Other award winners so far include Biffy Clyro, Bob Geldof, Wunderhorse, I Swear and Jacob Alon, who also performed their song ‘Of Amber’.

Tonight’s awards will close out with a special one-off performance from The Cranberries‘ Noel Hogan and Australian duo Royel Otis, who went viral recently with their cover of the band’s hit single ‘Linger’.
