Wunderhorse have confirmed details of their second album, Midas, and shared a huge new single called ‘July’.

The band, fronted by Jacob Slater, returned with the song ‘Midas’ earlier this year, and an album of the same name will arrive via Communion on August 30.

The album was recorded with Craig Silvey at the legendary Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota, where Nirvana laid down In Utero. It follows 2022 debut album Cub.

Slater said of the new album: “When we first went into the studio to make this record, the only thing we were sure about is how we wanted it to sound; very imperfect, very live, very raw; no frills. We wanted it to sound like your face is pressed up against the amplifiers, like you’ve been locked inside the bass drum.”

Listen to ‘July’ below.

Later this year, Wunderhorse will take Midas on their biggest UK and Irish headline tour to date, including a show at London’s recently re-opened O2 Academy Brixton.
