The coolest things we’re buying before the summer ends
From nostalgia-driven sportswear to art-inspired accessories, the last days of summer call for one last style shake-up
To survive an uncharacteristically hot summer, style has taken a backseat to survival. The lightest of layers in breathable fabrics to prevent the inevitable overheating, and sun-blocking accessories like a bucket hat or a classic pair of Wayfarers in constant rotation. So, as the season finally starts to turn, it’s time to shake things up.
The releases on our radar have fun with classic silhouettes. Nostalgia-driven sportswear takes the menswear lead from 28 Clothing and Bound, while retro and space-age accessories add the perfect dose of fun. Of course, no round-up would be complete without the latest collaborations, especially when they’re worth the hype.
28 Clothing

Louis Tomlinson has mastered retro sportswear with his latest 28 Clothing drop. Consider it the idealised vision of ’70s kit, without the vintage smell. Think spread collars and a vintage wash that only gets better with wear. The Dril training top stands out with its badges, but it’s the contrast panels on the short sleeves that really make a statement.
Timberland Strafford Washed Canvas Jacket

While the 6-Inch boot gets all the glory, something needs to be said for Timberland’s outerwear. Their take on the classic durability of a workwear jacket, the Stratford has all the makings of a classic without the unnecessary bells and whistles. Made in recycled cotton, it’s built to last as long as the boots that made the brand famous.
M&S x Aries

M&S is flexing its street-style muscle with a surprise collaboration with Aries. The cult London-based brand, headed by creative director Sofia Prantera and graphic designer Fergus Purcell, is known for its sell-out collectability. The collab promises to make Aries’ playful graphics more accessible. Launching 20 August.
Bao Bao Issey Miyake WARP tote

The prismatic Bao tote bag has seen its fair share of interpretations, but the latest, the WARP, might just be the coolest in recent history. It plays with time and space, like speeding through the city streets, caught mid-blur. Mesmerising and dynamic, it’s a bag built for movement.
bound Freddie retro marine stripe knit

While its origins are in streetwear, bound’s Creator Program sees the brand push its aesthetic. Teaming up with tastemaker Freddie Long, this means exploring preppier pastures. Vintage-inspired sportswear and collegiate codes collide into the perfect knit for when the last days of summer blur into autumn.
Pane Light Training Nogi

For all the longtime wearers of chunky trainers it’s time to retire those oversized soles. With 70s-inspired marathon kicks all the rage, the perfect pair come from Pane. Waxed leather contrasts suede panels in all the sumptuoiys shades of the Light Training Nogi.
Salt & Stone x Cherry The Leather and Suede Set

Inspired by the style of the West Coast’s open roads, Cherry has already nailed it when it comes to fashion. So what does it smell like? Teaming up with Salt & Stone, the brand has released a deodorant that’s as considered as its clothing. Its award-winning, aluminium-free formula comes to life in Leather and Desert Grass, a tobacco blossom heart note underscored by lingering leather and sandalwood. This limited-edition set arrives with a suede travel case, made for wherever the road takes you.
Droplet

Inspired by vinyl record players, Droplet’s Scent Amplifier is a beautifully made device with an array of oils to play with. Hand-blown glass meets a dial you control just like you would your music. Because you already have a signature scent, why not find one for your home too?
