In partnership with Elliot Brown Watches
Jon Vernon is a professional drummer based in Manchester. A Milton Keynes native, he turned his hobby into a career and travelled on into the UK and Europe touring scene from 2012, before eventually taking a senior position as the British Drum Company’s head of Assembly & Quality Control department in 2018. Vernon appears in a new campaign for Elliot Brown Watches’ latest collection – taglined “Timing Is Everything”.
The watchmakers’ Bloxworth 3HD takes its cues from classic 60s dive watches. The ‘102’ model uses a vapour blasted dark gunmetal finish that almost looks ceramic. The precision of the case finishing is beautifully highlighted, with detailed ‘pops’ of gloss that lift it to another level. The overall effect looks ready for duty, while remaining easy on both the eye and on the wrist. The 41mm bezel profile is new for Elliot Brown, with a narrow coin-edged outer grip framed by a polished bevel that marries up to the scratch resistant ceramic bezel insert. A subtle box sapphire crystal sits just proud of the bezel, providing a versatile, classic look that manages to be bang up to date at the same time.
The two-layer ‘Sandwich’ dial features a lower centre, imprinted with a texture using elements of Elliot Brown’s shield logo – a signature marque of this watch in keeping with the 60s vibe. The sand-blasted dark gunmetal grey bracelet, made from 316L stainless steel, comes with a heavy-duty deployant buckle with a multi-stage slide out locking extension section for use over a wetsuit.
All of this is in addition to Elliot Brown’s robust specification, including a proprietary movement shock protection system, triple-sealed screw crown, 316L marine grade stainless case and bezel, easy change unbreakable strap bars, compressor bolt-down case back, interchangeable strapping options, and 100% testing in water at 200m. The Bloxworth 3HD 929-102-B09 carries a 5-year warranty.
