As fans of The Traitors eagerly await the hit BBC show’s return, we’re delighted to confirm that Paul Gorton – the man responsible for the reality hit’s most dramatic exit last year – will be our official Traitors correspondent for season three.

Paul became a viral sensation after delivering a now-iconic bow when he was ousted at the Round Table earlier this year, with the dramatic moment spawning countless memes and solidifying his TV villain status. Now, he’ll be giving us his weekly expert opinions on this year’s crop of Traitors and Faithfuls when the show returns on New Year’s Day.

“I took my iconic bow last year, but now I’m back as Rolling Stone UK’s official Traitors Correspondent to give my verdict on series three,” said Paul.

“You can read my thoughts on RollingStone.co.uk every Friday morning throughout January. Let the games begin!”

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that The Traitors has become a runaway hit and one of TV’s most entertaining reality shows in a generation. It sees a group of strangers heading to the Scottish Highlands where a select few became the eponymous Traitors who must work together to eliminate the other contestants for a prize of up to £120,000.

But at the same time, they face the threat of the other contestants known as The Faithful – who have the job of sniffing out the Traitors in their midst in order to win the grand prize.

Paul’s popularity as a result of the show even resulted in a shout out from Matty Healy when he attended a 1975 show earlier this year with his fellow Traitor and eventual winner Harry Clark.

“Did anybody watch The Traitors? Because that’s Paul and Harry over there,” said Healy, before Gorton replicated his bow.

The BBC confirmed the show’s return on New Year’s Day earlier this month, while host Claudia Winkleman has teased subtle changes to the show’s format.

“I would love to tell you all about series three, but then I will get fired so I can tell you absolutely nothing,” Winkleman explained in a press release for S3. “What I will tell you is that things are different this year. There are some really exciting things that have changed, which keeps everyone on the toes and feeds into the central premise of trust! I can’t wait for everyone to see.”
