Dua Lipa has offered a first look at spy thriller ‘Argylle’, in which she’ll make her acting debut.

The Grammy winner posted a still from the film to her social media channels today (March 10), in which she’s pictured slow dancing with Henry Cavill. Details on the plot of the movie remain scarce, but the star-studded cast will see Lipa and Cavill joined by the likes of Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara. Ariana DeBose, John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson.

Matthew Vaughn, who helmed all three instalments in the ‘Kingsman’ series, is in the director’s chair, working from a script by Jason Fuchs, who penned ‘Wonder Woman’. The film is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on an undisclosed date later this year. A press release said that it “follows the globe-trotting adventures of a super-spy named Argylle across the U.S., London and other exotic locations”.

In the same release, Vaughn said: “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre.” Zygi Kamasa, CEO of the film’s production company, Marv, added: “We are delighted that we will be starting our fourth, and by far the biggest, feature film production since the start of the global pandemic. It demonstrates both our desire to scale up our production activity and our ambition to continue to launch new franchises beyond the Kingsman series of films.”

Filming on ‘Argylle’ began last summer. Lipa has remained busy on the musical front; tomorrow (March 11), she’ll release a new collaborative single with Megan Thee Stallion, with the Houston rapper having teased it on social media last Sunday (March 6). Lipa shared a snippet of the as-yet-untitled song on Instagram, on which Megan can be heard delivering the line “me and Dua Lipa finna get the party lit.”

The pair will unite later this month when the rapper opens for Lipa at three shows on the U.S. leg of her ‘Future Nostalgia tour, in Denver, Tulsa and Phoenix. The tour arrives in the UK in April – see the full tour dates below.
