Timothée Chalamet is back in time for another awards season blitz with the new film Marty Supreme. Chalamet stars as the titular character in the upcoming film.

Josh Safdie directed this new A24 offering. Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, a rising ping pong star looking to take his talents and fame to the next level. Gwyneth Paltrow co-stars as an actress Marty sets his sights on wooing, while Odessa A’Zion plays his other love interest. The cast also includes Shark Tank‘s Kevin O’Leary, Fran Drescher, Tyler the Creator, Pen Jillette, Sandra Bernhard and Abel Ferrara.

Though not confirmed, the film is rumored to be inspired by the story of professional ping pong player Marty Reisman. It will hit theaters Christmas Day.

Chalamet is fresh off a double blockbuster year, starring in both Dune: Part Two and the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown in 2024. He was nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance as Dylan and took home the Screen Actors Guild award for his role. He is currently filming Dune: Part Three, which will be out in 2026.

This will be Paltrow’s first on-screen role since she appeared in Avengers: Endgame in 2019. The actress has largely stepped away from acting to focus on her lifestyle brand Goop.
