A Bob Dylan group playing at Glastonbury this year have promised “a surprise or two” as rumours swirl that they could be joined by Timothée Chalamet on stage.

The actor portrayed Bob Dylan in the celebrated biopic A Complete Unknown this year, which was nominated for a slew of awards at the BAFTAs and Oscars. Chalamet also received praise for performing Dylan’s hits with his own voice, instead of choosing to mime them.

Last month, The Sun claimed that he was set to join Dylan tribute group Not Completely Unknown when they take to the Acoustic Stage on the Saturday of the festival.

Now, more info has emerged and it looks like the group are doing very little to quash the speculation surrounding a very famous guest.

On the Glastonbury website, their set is described as a celebration of Dylan’s songs featuring musicians Liam O Maonlai, Katya, Paul Carrack, ‘Streets of London’ singer Ralph McTell and Sid Griffin.

But on his own website, Griffin confirmed that fans could be for a guest or two. “I really hope all you Glastonbury Festival goers pop by the Acoustic Stage at 3pm on Saturday June 28th to hear and witness this very special tribute to a great man,” he wrote.

“Not Completely Unknown will feature some of Europe’s greatest singers performing songs by America’s leading voice of freedom. It is going to be a VERY emotional day for me as I am the Host and all I can say is you are in for a treat and a surprise or two,” he added. “Bob, we are gonna do you proud. You have my word…

“We can guarantee you that if it’s pouring rain, we’ll keep you dry; if the sun is splitting the trees we’ll give you shade and on top of that, if that needs topping, we’ll get to hear a selection of songs from one of the best songwriters ever to have walked this planet,” he adds.

It’s not the only rumoured secret set of the weekend. Among all the anticipated timings for headline sets from the likes of The 1975Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, fans have noticed a line-up spot for a mysterious band called Patchwork – who are set to appear on the Pyramid Stage at 6.15pm on Saturday, June 28.

As per The Guardian, it appears that festival bosses are keeping mum, but a similar slot was previously taken by Foo Fighters in 2023 – which speaks volumes about the level of the act who could feasibly take the slot. HAIM, who release their fourth album only a week before, have found their name linked to the slot. Other rumours include Pulp, who release their first album in 24 years later this week, while Mumford & Sons are also riding high in the betting stakes.

There is also another TBA slot on the Pyramid on Friday afternoon, Friday morning on the Woodsies stage (which hosted Kasabian last year) and a Saturday evening slot on the Park Stage.
