Lambrini Girls have returned with a vicious new single called ‘God’s Country’, which sees them take aim at the UK government and the far right.

The song was produced by Daniel Fox of Dublin band Gilla Band and its video sees the duo heading around London and filming outside Buckingham Palace.

They said of the track: “’Gods Country’ is our long, overdue call-out of the government and rise of the far right. We wrote this a few months back, when the political landscape had evidently reached a global boiling point.

“Great Britain. Think colonial, shit-hole, chunk of land. Thriving off unhinged nationalism, fed to us by the right red hand of unelected prime ministers. Despite this, we have the audacity to call our country ‘Great’. So we ask you, ‘Are you sure?’”

They added: “We could deep dive into inspirations and influences- but the songs about politics, not us. We hope the song speaks for itself.

“Rishi, Cameron, Cummings, Starmer – you’re all on our shit list.”

Alongside the release of the new track, Lambrini Girls have confirmed their biggest headline show to date.

They will play London’s Scala on June 13 and you can buy tickets here from 10am GMT on Friday, February 16.
