Confirming longstanding rumours, Lorde played a secret set to open Glastonbury 2025 this morning – here’s what went down.

At 11.30am on the Woodsies stage, the singer christened her fourth album Virgin, out today, with a 45-minute set to an enormous crowd.

Lorde played the new album in its entirety, before ending on hits ‘Ribs’ and ‘Green Light’.

“Morning!” she told the crowd half-way through the run-through of her new album. “This is fucking sick! Thank you so much for being with us on the day that Virgin is born! We decided to play the whole record for you, front to back.

“This may be a one of one, you know?” she added. “This record took me a lot. I didn’t know if I’d make another record to be honest, but I am back here, completely free.”
