Benedict Cumberbatch and FKA Twigs will take part in an upcoming Letters Live fundraiser at London’s KOKO.

The Oscar-nominated star has today (October 1) been unveiled as the global ambassador for environmental advocacy as part of the KOKO Foundation, the charitable arm of the legendary London venue.

As part of that role, Cumberbatch will play a major rule in the charity’s efforts to promote sustainability and green living in London.

“I am honoured to be a KOKO Foundation Ambassador with a special focus on the environment. It’s been so inspiring to witness first-hand, the amazing impact that the Foundation has quietly had over the past few years, making real and lasting change in Camden,” said Cumberbatch.

He continued: “I’m excited, inspired and committed to help bring awareness to the special work being done and continue to help improve the local area and scale the foundations work around the country, and the world.”

The partnership will be celebrated when the KOKO Foundation teams up Letters Live to host a special fundraising edition the celebrated night called ‘A Night In The Theatre’.

Taking place on November 7, it will see musicians and artists reading historical or personal letters – with Cumberbatch and FKA Twigs among the main stars.

Tickets for the event will go on sale this Thursday (October 3) at 9am local time and you can buy them here.

Sophia Pasetti, CEO of The KOKO Foundation said: “The Foundation was born out of a desire to create something really special, to contribute to the community that KOKO is a part of; its environment, young people, and the next generation of essential artists.

“I have been deeply moved by the impact our initiatives are already making, and it is a privilege to lead our Foundation on this exciting journey. I am beyond grateful for Benedict’s integrity and authenticity, he is incredibly inspiring and having him on board to help amplify our work is a true honour.”

Meanwhile, FKA Twigs recently told Rolling Stone UK about her upcoming album Eusexua as she unveiled an immersive artwork at Sotheby’s.

“I describe Eusexua as a pinnacle of human experience,” explained Twigs.

“It’s what I hope the Movers are feeling right now in that room. It’s the feeling of dancing all night and losing hours to the beat. It’s the feeling of having a great idea and the moment, just before a brilliant idea. That moment of complete clarity before you have the idea.

“There’s a lot of writers in here today and when I write songs sometimes, I’m trying to think of what I want to say and I can’t get it out. You get that moment where you think it’s not going to happen and then ping! All of a sudden, you can write a whole page in 10 minutes. That’s Eusexua.”
