Central Cee has shared visuals for new single ‘Cold Shoulder’, which see the rapper reflecting on his roots in Shepherd’s Bush, and his rapid rise to fame over the last year.

You can watch the black and white video below, which features footage of Central Cee in his native Shepherd’s Bush interspersed with clips from huge live appearances.

The track is taken from the rapper’s forthcoming mixtape ’23’, which will be released on February 25. It will also feature the slick ‘Retail Therapy’, which appeared at the beginning of the year, and September’s emotive ‘Obsessed With You’.

Central Cee’s debut mixtape, ‘Wild West’, dropped back in March 2021, and features singles ‘Pinging (6 Figures)’ and ‘6 for 6’.

Central Cee was among the nominees for this year’s BBC Sound of 2022 award. The eventual winner was Pink Pantheress, whose ‘Just For Me’ was sampled on ‘Obsessed With You’. She beat competition from the likes of Wet Leg, Mimi Webb, Lola Young and Yard Act.

Last year, meanwhile, the rapper released a collaboration with FKA Twigs, in the form of atmospheric alt-R&B track ‘Measure Of A Man’, from the soundtrack of period spy thriller ‘The King’s Man’.

The song is credited to a slew of writers, including producer John Hill, Amanda Ghost, Dominic Lewis, Jane Goldman and the film’s director, Matthew Vaughn. It arrived in both standard and ‘cinematic’ versions.
