Former The Saturdays member Mollie King has addressed whether the UK girl band could ever get back together.

Mollie, 36, was part of the five-piece pop group, who gained 13 top 10 and eight top 5 singles, including one number one hit.

In their earlier days, they supported Girls Aloud on the road, who have just confirmed they’ll be reuniting for a 2024 tour dedicated to Sarah Harding, who died in 2021.

So it was only right to probe Mollie on the possibility of her old band getting back together.

Reacting to the news of their pop counterparts making a comeback, she told Rolling Stone UK: “I am so excited about Girls Aloud! I’m going to be front row

“I’m going to say, never say never!” she teased.

Announcing the news on Instagram yesterday (23 November), Girls Aloud shared: “We’re so excited to announce that we will be touring the UK & Ireland in May and June 2024.

“A celebration of Sarah [Harding], our music and our incredible fans. We can’t wait to sing and dance with you all once again. Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine & Nicola.”

Mollie is also sharing the girl-band love elsewhere, currently helming a new podcast for BBC Sounds.

‘Where It’s At: A Short History of Girlbands’ dives into history of some of her favourite girlbands.

She added: “I talk to some of the members of TLC, All Saints, Girls Aloud, it’s been so enjoyable to make.

“We look back at the highs and lows of being in a girl band.”

On what might be coming up for Mollie in 2024, she teased: “So much coming up next year! Not too much I can talk about at the moment.

“Next year’s going to be a big one.”
