Ed Sheeran has recalled the time he got so high with Snoop Dogg that he ended up struggling to see.

Speaking to Conan O’Brien on the Conan Needs A Friend podcast, Sheeran explained how he met the rapper backstage earlier this year after performing at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

The British singer was introduced to Snoop by close friend Russell Crowe, who was in attendance and also shares a close friendship with the rapper. “I’ve sort of got quite close friends with Russell Crowe over the years and he is really close with Snoop Dogg,” he reflected.

Of their smoking session, Sheeran recalled: “I don’t really smoke at all but I was in the dressing room and they were just like blunt for blunt for blunt for blunt. I was like, ‘I guess at some point during the night, I have to, just to say I smoked with Snoop Dogg.’”

Sheeran went on: “He was like, ‘Do you want some?’ so I have a bit and I was like, ‘I don’t feel too bad, this is good’. Then I have a bit more, and then I have a bit more, and then I have a bit more. I just remember looking at him and being like, ‘I can’t see right now.’”

Ed Sheeran’s latest album came in Autumn Variations, which was released last week and marks his second record of the year and his first since ending the Mathematics series – where his solo albums were respectively titled Plus, Multiply, Divide, Equals and Subtract.

Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, played two shows in Dublin last month – with Rolling Stone UK in attendance to capture the event.
