The beloved Glastonbury Festival is set to return in 2022 after two years off due to COVID restrictions.

As spring approaches, and a line-up announcement nears, fans with tickets rolled over from 2020’s ticket sale in October 2019, and then again from 2021, will need to pay their remaining balance soon, before a ticket resale is held.

After Michael Eavis confirmed in a new interview that Glastonbury 2022 is “definitely happening” and will be “the best show ever,” it’s time to get excited for the return of the best show on earth.

While we wait, here’s everything you need to know about ticket balance payments, resales for unsold tickets, who’s currently booked to play and when to expect the rest of the line-up, and more.

Ticket payments: when do I have to pay for the rest of my Glastonbury ticket?

It’s been two-and-a-half years since deposits were put down for Glastonbury 2020. Since then, circumstances have changed for many, but if you’re lucky enough to have bagged a ticket in October 2019 and put down a £50 deposit, the remaining balance is due in the first week of March, with money needing to be paid between 9am GMT on Tuesday, March 1 and 23.59pm GMT on Monday, March 7.

If you decide to not pay for your remaining ticket balance, you will receive £25 of your initial £50 deposit back, and your ticket will go into a resale later in the month. More on that below…

Ticket resale: will there be any more Glastonbury 2022 tickets on sale?

After the balance payment window closes on March 7, all the tickets not taken up will be put back into a resale later in the month.

On Thursday, March 24, ticket and coach packages will go on sale, with travel to the festival from all over the country and a ticket for the event included in the same package.

For festival tickets alone, another sale will then take place three days later on Sunday, March 27.

Line-up: who is playing and who is rumoured for Glastonbury 2022?

Billie Eilish has already been announced to headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday (June 24), with Diana Ross in the ‘Legends’ slot on Sunday (June 26). Little Simz is also set to headline the West Holts Stage.

Taylor SwiftPaul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar were announced as the headliners of the cancelled 2020 event, which was set to celebrate the delayed 50th anniversary of the festival, but it’s not clear whether any or all of them will return in 2022.

Elton John is also among those who could also potentially headline, with a gap in the schedule for his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.

In terms of timing for the line-up announcement, Emily Eavis told fans in early February that they should expect some news “before the end of the month,” with the first full poster arriving in March.
