IDLES announce only UK headline show for rest of 2022

Tickets for the gig go on sale tomorrow.

IDLES have announced their only UK headline show for the rest of 2022 which will also serve as their warm-up for Glastonbury.

Ahead of their appearance at the Worthy Farm festival, the punk rockers will play a warm-up gig at Coventry’s HMV Empire on 23 June.

In an social media post announcing the show, the band confirmed it would be their only headline appearance in the UK this year.

Tickets for the Midlands concert will be available from 10am on 13 May.

The ‘Danny Nedelko’ musicians recently headlined a benefit gig in Bristol in aid of Ukraine. Performing alongside them were Bristol natives Portishead, Billy Nomates and Heavy Lungs.

Though the concert in Coventry will be their only headline gig of the year, the band still have a busy festival schedule.

They will be playing Glastonbury along with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish and Sam Fender.

The band will also be appearing at All Points East which is headlined by Gorillaz, Tame Impala and The Chemical Brothers. Other acts appearing at the London festival include The National, Self Esteem and rapper Pusha T.

IDLES will also be headlining 2000trees in Cheltenham along with Jimmy Eat World, You Me At Six, Thrice and Turnstile.

August will see the punk group appear at Boardmasters with Damian Marley, George Ezra, Kings of Leon and Bastille among many others.

The band will also be touring festivals across Europe and North America and are set to play Primavera in Spain and Lollapalooza in the US.

IDLES also recently performed at the BBC’s Radio 6 Music Festival with Little Simz, Father John Misty and Wet Leg.
