This evening (February 20), the singer will read Under The Love Umbrella, which is written by Davina Bell and illustrated by Alison Colpoys. The story follows the journeys of four children who have been bestowed with their own love umbrellas.

Talbot’s appearance comes after the likes of Dave Grohl, Harry Styles, Phoebe Bridgers and Arlo Parks all appeared on the show in recent years – a treat for young children and their parents alike.

“It’s an honour to announce that I am reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story,” said Talbot. “I can NOT express how much I love reading to my kid so this was a welcome twist in an already beautiful career. All love.”

Talbot’s appearance comes after IDLES released their fifth album TANGK last Friday (February 16).

Hailing the record for its “love songs that hit you like a punch in the face”, Rolling Stone UK wrote: “As a collection of love songs, it works incredibly well, allowing the group to mine their souls without losing excitement and variety in the process. Five albums into their career, IDLES remain one of Britain’s most exciting and vital bands. To quote Talbot himself: all is love.”

The band have also shared a new video for ‘Grace’, a reimagination of Coldplay‘s iconic ‘Yellow’ video featuring an AI deepfake of Chris Martin.

IDLES also appear in issue 15 of Rolling Stone UK where Talbot and guitarist/producer Mark Bowen discuss the album’s core tenet of love, working with Nigel Godrich and their creative partnership.
