Jamie T has announced details of a new UK tour for November – you can see the full dates below.

Fresh from a thoroughly raucous headline appearance on the John Peel stage at Glastonbury last weekend, the Wimbledon troubadour is now gearing up for a first run of UK dates in five years. The tour will take him to Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester, Cardiff and Portsmouth, with a massive hometown show in London at Alexandra Palace also in prospect.

The gigs are in support of his long-awaited fifth album, ‘The Theory of Whatever’, which is due on July 29. The tour announcement comes as he releases a second single from the album, the contemplative ‘St. George Wharf Tower’, following soaring lead single ‘The Old Style Raiders’, which arrived last month.

Tickets will go on general sale at 9am on July 8 here, although fans who pre-order (or have already pre-ordered) ‘The Theory of Whatever’ from T’s official online store will be able to pick up tickets in a pre-sale that begins on July 6, also at 9am. In other news, T’s 2007 debut, ‘Panic Prevention’, recently achieved platinum status, just as he celebrates its 15th birthday; a new, limited edition vinyl was released back in January.

Speaking about ‘The Old Style Raiders’ in a press release back when it was announced, he said: “I was struggling to find my direction with the record for a few years, really. I went home one day, and I found this track that I had recorded, pretty much fully finished and I was really upset, because I realised that I’d spent the last six months asking other people to tell me if something was good. Then I heard this track and I just immediately knew I’d kind of found my path.” He had previously made his live return with an intimate show at London’s Subterania, where he debuted new songs.
