Jamie XX has announced he will return tomorrow (April 12) with new track ‘Let’s Do It Again’.

The latest release is the first from the producer and multi-instrumentalist since 2020’s ‘Idontknow’ and comes after he previewed it during a selection of festival live shows last year.

“I had a lot of fun trying this one out at festivals last year. You might recognise it…” he wrote on Instagram. “LET’S DO IT AGAIN is out on Tuesday.”

Elsewhere, Jamie XX recently teamed up with his The XX bandmate Oliver Sim to produce a string of solo singles. March’s ‘Romance With A Heart’ marked Sim’s first solo single and was followed by ‘Fruit’ last week. XX produced both the tracks.

“Terrifyingly, this is the first song I’ve ever released under my own name, I really hope you all enjoy it. Produced by my dear older brother Jamie xx,” Sim said of his debut solo track.

“P.S still very much in a loving and happy relationship/band with Romy and Jamie,” he added.

Sim was the last of The xx’s long-standing three-piece lineup to release solo material, after guitarist and vocalist Romy dipped her toe into the solo water in 2020 with debut single ‘Lifeline’; she followed that up in January with ‘Lights Out’, a collaboration with Fred Again and HAAi. Around the release of ‘Lifeline’, Romy confirmed that The xx have a future; their last album, ‘I See You’, turned five this past January.

The xx’s most recent studio album, ‘I See You’, arrived in January 2017, but the band have shared footage of them working together in a rehearsal space as recently as December last year.
