Machine Gun Kelly has revealed his collaborative new single with Bring Me the Horizon – you can listen to it below.

‘maybe’ is the fourth single from the rapper’s sixth studio album, ‘Mainstream Sellout’, which is due to arrive later this month. It follows lead single ‘papercuts’, his Willow collaboration ‘emo girl’ and his Lil Wayne team-up ‘ay!’

During an appearance at the long-running club night Emo Nite at Los Angeles venue Avalon earlier this month, Kelly and Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes debuted the track over the PA. The uptempo cut is largely in Kelly’s trademark pop-punk style, albeit with some signature screaming from Sykes, racing percussion from drummer Matt Nicholls and crunching riffery courtesy of Lee Malia.

It marks the latest collaboration for the Sheffield metallers, and perhaps a more obvious one than ‘Bad Habits’, their joint effort with Ed Sheeran that they opened the BRIT Awards ceremony with last month. Like the rest of ‘Mainstream Sellout’, ‘Maybe’ is produced by Blink-182 sticksman Travis Barker, continuing his work with Kelly after he also handled production duties on his 2020 album ‘Tickets to My Downfall’. The album is released on March 25; yesterday (March 15), Kelly unveiled the full, star-studded track listing.

Last week, meanwhile, Kelly revealed the artwork for ‘Mainstream Sellout’, which was originally to be titled ‘Born with Horns’, which remains the name of the opening track. Some observers pointed out similarities between Kelly’s album cover and that of last year’s third studio album, ‘Jubilee’, by indie-pop outfit Japanese Breakfast.

The controversy prompted the band’s singer and primary songwriter, Michelle Zauner, to dismiss the comparison. “I don’t actually think it looks anything like my album cover at all,” she told Pitchfork on Monday (March 14). “I mean his is people throwing tomatoes at him, and mine is persimmons peacefully hanging around me, so I think they’re very different concepts.”

“I’ve never met Machine Gun Kelly. He seems like a fine person,” she went on. “I can’t imagine having rock beef with anyone, but if I had to choose, it would probably be Machine Gun Kelly.I’m honored to have a celebrity feud published in Rolling Stone today; it was not something I had anticipated.”
