Noel Gallagher says Oasis decided on 2027 shows during last tour, addresses new music claims

Noel Gallagher has revealed exactly when Oasis decided to follow up their huge 2025 comeback with another run of shows next year, and whether or not fans can expect to hear some new music.
Yesterday (September 14) saw the band confirm the worst kept secret in music as they revealed details of their 2027 shows, which includes four dates at Knebworth – the site of their famous 1996 gigs – and eleven shows at the Etihad Stadium, the home of their beloved Manchester City.
Other dates on the tour include a European run in Germany, France, Spain and Italy, as well as five shows at Glasgow’s Celtic Park to kick off the run and US dates in Las Vegas and Boston.
Appearing on talkSPORT last night, Gallagher said that the band had decided to undertake a 2027 run after the initial success of their Wembley shows during last year’s comeback tour.
“It was after the second Wembley show [on July 26 2025],” Noel said. “Nobody really knew what was going to happen or how it was going to go. So we did Cardiff and Manchester, then by the time we got to Wembley, somebody said ‘Well, you know?’ and it was decided we were going to do it.”
“It was all set in motion then,” he added, before revealing that shows in “Italy, France, Germany and Spain” had always been the plan because the fans there have “been great with us throughout the years”.
As for the US dates, he said that the stop-offs in Boston and Las Vegas had originally been planned for last year, but they were unable to do them “for some reason”.
But it was at the Wembley shows that he found himself asking “what about Knebworth?”, largely because they were “having such a great time, that why wouldn’t we?”
Gallagher was also asked if the band had been working on any new music since reuniting – which would mark their first since 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul – though he was quick to shoot down any hopes.
“There won’t be any new music,” he simply shared.
Fans hoping to get tickets for next year’s shows must register here before Thursday 17 September at 4pm BST / 5pm CEST / 8am PT / 11am ET. Fans who are successful will be sent a unique, non-transferable code to access an allocated onsale window. In the UK, sales will take place across Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, with three on sale windows on each day.
It’s hoped that this form of ticketing will avoid any repeats of the chaos that unfolded when tickets for their 2025 comeback went on sale, when the band were falsely accused of employing dynamic pricing, a ticketing model where prices often rise in cases of extreme demand.

Reviewing the first night of their 2025 world tour in Cardiff, Rolling Stone UK said: “Oasis’ arsenal of generation-defining hits is hardly a secret, but when confronted with them one after another like this, it’s truly overwhelming and doesn’t let up for over two hours.”
Last week also saw the release of new documentary Don’t Look Back in Anger. Created by Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (Shut Up and Play the Hits, Meet Me in the Bathroom), documents the 2025 tour and the reconciliation of Liam and Noel.
Reviewing the film at its Venice Film Festival premiere, Rolling Stone UK said: “This documentary does not reinvent the form. But those who’ve experienced it will find themselves happy, positive and with a newly energised swagger after seeing it, just like one feels after listening to the best Oasis songs.”
