Royal Blood have released a new song called ‘Honeybrains’ – stream below.

The duo, who are embarking on a UK and Ireland tour tomorrow in support of their 2021 album ‘Typhoons’, teased the track on their socials yesterday (March 17). A black-and-white clip showed drummer Ben Thatcher writing the release date on a mirror that had the song’s title in spray paint.

Royal Blood explained why they chose to release ‘Honeybrains’ now. “Instead of sitting on new music, waiting for it to grow old, we thought it’d be fun to let you in on what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks before we head out on our biggest tour so far! It’s as new to us as it is to you. Crank it,” they wrote online.

The band kick off their tour tomorrow night (March 19) at the Swansea Arena in Wales.

They’re the first act to play the brand new 3,500-capacity venue, which is located beside the Welsh city’s marina. The arena will host 200 events a year and welcome 230,000 visitors annually. Alice Cooper, The Cult and Will Young are among other artists confirmed to play the venue in 2022.

Royal Blood UK and Ireland tour dates 2022:

25 – Bournemouth International Centre
26 – Birmingham Utilia Arena
27 – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
29 – Nottingham Motorpoint Arena
30 – London The O2

Royal Blood are also booked for several festivals this year including Spain’s Mad Cool, Portugal’s NOS Alive and Germany’s Hurricane festival.

During the promotional cycle for ‘Typhoons’, which was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, frontman Mike Kerr spoke extensively about the importance of his new-found sobriety in both personal and professional terms.

He told NME: “It was important for me to be open about it, because I know I’m not alone in these experiences. I had the confidence to do that because I was clean and sober.”
