Sam Fender has expanded his 2022 UK tour, adding more dates today (October 15th).

The Newcastle indie rocker will hit the road next March, making the step up to arenas in support of his critically-acclaimed second album, ‘Seventeen Going Under’.

Fender will now play a second night at London’s Wembley Arena, on April 2nd, as well as a second hometown show at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, on April 6th.

He had already lined up arena concerts for the spring in Nottingham, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham and Brighton, as well as a huge outdoor gig next summer in Manchester at Castlefield Bowl.

‘Seventeen Going Under’, released last Friday (October 8th), is odds-on to follow Fender’s debut album, 2019’s ‘Hypersonic Missiles’, in topping the UK album charts later today.

A mid-week chart update showed that Fender was outselling the rest of the top ten combined. In a four-star review for Rolling Stone UK, Will Richards said that the songs on ‘Seventeen Going Under’ “are deeply personal, but the gusto and care with which they’re tackled and presented make them universal – a skill shared by all the best songwriters.”
