Fans of SEVENTEEN have hailed the group after they were announced as the first K-Pop act to perform at the festival.

Today (March 14) saw the Somerset festival announce its 2024 line-up, with Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA all taking headline slots.

But it’s K-Pop group SEVENTEEN who will make history after being announced as the first act in the celebrated genre to perform down on Worthy Farm. The thirteen-strong group will make their Glastonbury debut this summer, which marks a major milestone for the genre.

It’s the start of a busy festival season for the group, who are also set to headline Lollapalooza Berlin 2024 at the Olympiastadion & Olympiapark Berlin from September 7 to 8.

Responding on X/Twitter, one fan wrote: “Seventeen took the ‘SEVENTEEN TO THE WORLD’ line seriously!”

Another said: “SEVENTEEN performing on Lollapalooza Berlin on September and UK Glastonbury Festival on June …. what a crazy time we really got this announcement within 2 days.”

You can check out a selection of reactions below.

Elsewhere at this year’s Glastonbury, Country icon Shania Twain will also play the Legends Slot, while the Other Stage will take in headline slots from IDLES, Disclosure and The National.

The confirmation comes after Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis confirmed last week that festival-goers could expect a full line-up within days.

t’s the first run of acts, but organisers have promised that “so many more artists, stages and performance areas” will be announced in the coming months.

Coldplay’s performance will see them make history as the first act to top the bill at Glastonbury five times, following their headline sets in 2002, 2005, 2011 and 2016 – prompting speculation that a new album could be on the way.

Dua Lipa, meanwhile, will no doubt be showcasing music from her upcoming third album Radical Optimism, which will land in full on May 3. It follows 2020’s huge Future Nostalgia.

“FRIDAY NIGHT PYRAMID STAGE HEADLINE!!!! I have dreamt of this moment all my life,” said Dua Lipa.

“Something that lived only in my wildest dreams and highest manifestations !!! I am so excited to see you all in my favourite place on earth and make it a night to remember!!”
