Soulwax have announced details of their first ever ‘After Hours’ rave at London’s Abbey Road.
The DJ duo will take to the legendary studio on February 21, with the evening running from 8PM till 1am. The rave will take place in Studio One with the Dewaele brothers curating the line-up, which is yet to be fully revealed.
The duo will also record new music with their band in Abbey Road’s Studio Two just a day before, cutting the recordings straight to vinyl. It will then be played at the rave, marking Soulwax’s premiere of the DEEWEE Soundsystem, which is said to be based on New York’s iconic Paradise Garage.
There’s also a novel twist in obtaining tickets: Fans can apply to attend by ringing the Soulwax hotline on 07886 072699. Those who miss out on tickets can watch the rave take place on YouTube on March 5.
“It’s hard to say whether we have a perverse or healthy attraction to crazy ideas, that’s for other people to decide, really. So to be approached with a crazy idea is one thing, but to be approached with a crazy idea by the most iconic recording studio in music history is even more attractive,” they said.
“We embrace and accept this challenge and also sincerely hope this won’t be the last rave at Abbey Road.”
