The Chemical Brothers announce huge Yorkshire show this summer
The June performance will take place on the grounds of Castle Howard
The Chemical Brothers have announce a huge open-air concert in Yorkshire this summer.
The electronic music duo, comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, are set to perform at the grounds of Castle Howard in North Yorkshire on June 26.
According to an official release, the show should “create its own transcendent audio/visual space where the audience can lose themselves for the duration of the set.”
Tickets go on sale Friday (February 11) at 10am GMT, and can be purchased here. Presale tickets go on sale Wednesday (February 9) at 10am, and fans can sign up here.
The Chemical Brothers are also set to headline All Points East at London’s Victoria Park alongside Kraftwerk, Tame Impala, The National, Disclosure and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Their headline slot along with Kraftwerk will celebrate Field Day’s 15th anniversary, which champions electronic dance music as part of All Points East.
Speaking about the lineup, Gareth Cooper, Field Day director said: “Off the back of a successful year last year, we’re delighted Field Day is returning to Victoria Park to celebrate its 15th edition. This year will be our biggest yet and we’re excited to welcome two of the most iconic acts in the history of electronic music to the festival, as well as a selection of the most groundbreaking artists in the industry.”
Last year’s lineup featured Bicep, The Black Madonna, Floating Points, Adelphi Music Factory and more.
The Chemical Brothers returned to live performances last year when they headlined Latitude 2021.
The duo also returned with new single ‘The Darkness That You Fear’ last year, their first new music since 2019 album ‘No Geography’.
Speaking about the single, Rowlands said: “‘The Darkness That You Fear’ is a hopeful piece of music. When we found the combination of the different voices worked set to the flow of the music, it made us feel optimistic—like it was something we wanted to share.”
They also last year shared an hour long mix as a tribute to their love of dub music.
Speaking about the project, they said: “We’re excited to bring you a selection of some of our favourite music – a deep dig into our record collections. Hopefully there will be something there for you whatever time of day you’re tuning in. Keep listening for exclusive DJ mixes that will explore some of our musical passions.”
