Viagra Boys have shared a new single called ‘Troglodyte’ – you can listen to it below.

Following on from last month’s ‘Ain’t No Thief’, the chaotic track is the latest preview of the Stockholm band’s third studio album ‘Cave World’, which comes out July 8 via Year0001 (pre-order here).

Per a press release, the upcoming record presents an “exploration into the chaos and confusion of current events through the comparison of modern man with troglodytes (I.E. cave dwellers)”.

Viagra Boys‘ frontman Sebastian Murphy explained: “People look down at apes as primitive life forms, but we’re just this horrible, lazy society killing each other and starting wars, while they’re able to love and feel. Does that make them the true ape or us?”

The group, whose latest album ‘Welfare Jazz’ came out in 2021, will perform at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London tonight (May 11) as part of their current UK and European tour. Over the summer, they’ll play at Primavera Sound in Barcelona as well as Sziget Festival in Budapest.

Viagra Boys will head stateside for a co-headline tour with Shame later this year before returning to the UK in early 2023. The band are set to perform at Brixton Academy in London on January 25. You can find their full schedule here.

Back in October 2021, Viagra Boys’ guitarist and founding member Benjamin Vallé died at the age of 47.

The news was confirmed in a statement on social media alongside images of Vallé. The Swedish group posted a tribute to the late guitarist, describing him as “one of the funniest, goofiest” people they had known.
