Phoebe Bridgers sang ‘Runaway Horses’ with The Killers for what appeared to be the first time the acts had performed the collaboration live together.

Bridgers sings on the track from Pressure Machine, The Killers‘ latest album, and got to join the band during their set at the Czech Republic’s Colours of Ostrava (“Colours”) festival.

“Ok who got a video of me singing with The Killers,” Bridgers wrote on Twitter yesterday (14 July) shortly after the performance. The singer-songwriter played an earlier set at the festival before The Killers’ headline show on the Česká spořitelna stage.

The duet marks Bridgers’ latest live collaboration following joining Clairo for a performance of the latter’s ‘Bags’ in Milan earlier this month. She was also invited to sing ‘Just Like Honey’ with The Jesus and Mary Chain during the band’s set at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

In other news, Bridgers recently spoke out about her experience of abortion after the US Supreme Court ruled to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe vs. Wade.

“I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour,” Bridgers wrote in an Instagram story. “I went to Planned Parenthood, where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access.”

The overturning means that the half-century guarantee of federal constitutional protection of abortion rights comes to an end, allowing each US state to decide whether to restrict or ban abortion.

Meanwhile, The Killers have confirmed plans to release a new album early in 2023.

“We just had a few days off and Stuart [Price, producer] came and visited us on the road,” singer Brandon Flowers told NME at Mad Cool Festival earlier this month.

“We’re sending things back and forth, and ideas. I’m talking with Shawn Everett [producer] too, and it’s nice to have that combo.”

He added that a full record “will probably be early next year”, but added that there will “definitely” be some singles released later in 2022.

The Killers also debuted a new track called ‘Boy’ during their headline set at Mad Cool.
