Noel Gallagher says Liam is trying to “rewrite history” over end of Oasis
Noel called the last year of the band “fucking dreadful”.
Noel Gallagher has accused brother Liam over trying to “rewrite history” regarding Oasis‘ final year as a band.
The Britpop heroes broke up in 2009 after a final tour, which Noel has called “not happy” and criticised Liam’s reading of the time.
According to the Daily Star, Gallagher has referred to the band’s final year as “dreadful” and added: “The last tour was not happy. The other fella is trying to rewrite history that it was all fucking great. It wasn’t.
“It was a fucking dreadful last year of Oasis. You get one shot at life. Why be unhappy? Whether it be in your personal or professional life, why? You’re just wasting a precious thing.”
It comes as Liam this week announced a UK tour celebrating 30 years of Oasis’ debut album Definitely Maybe, which will see him joined by Bonehead on guitar but not Noel.
According to Liam on X/Twitter, Noel was approached to play the tour but refused.
Discussing the gigs, Gallagher said: “I’m bouncing around the house to announce the ‘Definitely Maybe’ Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none. I wouldn’t be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together LG x”
