Noel Gallagher’s guitar used to write Oasis’ ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ to be auctioned
The acoustic guitar is expected to fetch around £50,000
The guitar that Noel Gallagher used during writing sessions for Oasis’ legendary album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is set to go under the hammer.
Sotheby’s are set to auction Gallagher’s signed Epiphone EJ-200 acoustic guitar as one of a number of items in an auction of the musician’s collection.
Elsewhere, also going to auction will be a handwritten lyric sheet for ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, and a 12-string Rickenbacker guitar used frequently by Gallagher.
Online bidding for the Epiphone begins tomorrow (April 9) and will be sold alongside a certificate of authenticity confirming that it was used during the …Morning Glory sessions.
Craig Inciardi of Sotheby’s revealed how the guitar was gifted to a member of Oasis’ crew by Gallagher, who then sold it to the now-seller. “He is a huge Oasis fan,” he revealed of the person now selling the guitar. “He was in the social circles of people who were around the band at the time.”

Elsewhere, Oasis are set to release a huge photobook documenting their enormous Live ’25 world tour. The book, part of the Opus series and curated alongside the Gallagher brothers, will feature 1,000 unseen images from the tour by photographer Simon Emmett.
The book will be released in four editions – Live Forever, Wonderwall, Glory and Supernova – and ship from May. You can pre-order a copy here.
In other news, the documentary about Oasis’ monumental 2025 reunion tour is reportedly clocking in at about four hours long, with producer Steven Knight calling it “phenomenal.”
Reviewing the first night of the world tour in Cardiff, Rolling Stone UK said: “Oasis’ arsenal of generation-defining hits is hardly a secret, but when confronted with them one after another like this, it’s truly overwhelming and doesn’t let up for over two hours.”
