Robbie Williams is set to play both his debut album Life Thru A Lens and new record BRITPOP in full at tiny London gig later this year.

Williams releases BRITPOP on October 10. So far, he has shared first single ‘Rocket’, featuring Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, and recent single ‘Spies’.

On October 9, the night before the new album’s release, he will play tiny Camden club Dingwalls. At the show, he will perform BRITPOP front to back as well as his 1997 debut album, Life Thru A Lens.

Fans can apply for tickets by pre-ordering BRITPOP here.

“I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995,” Robbie said of the new album in a statement. “It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music.

“I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual.”

He added: “There’s some ‘Brit’ in there and there’s certainly some ‘pop’ too – I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album. I also can’t wait to perform a song or two from it on my upcoming BRITPOP tour, which I’m opening in the UK, naturally.”

Reviewing one of two London shows of the BRITPOP tour, Rolling Stone UK said: “At the core of the show, though, is the same showmanship that has propelled Robbie to national treasure status over the last 30 years. He serenades a fan who has travelled from China during ‘She’s the One’ and spends large portions endearingly talking about how his family have saved his life.

“He ends the main portion of the set with ‘My Way’, which feels like the most appropriate of closers. Here is an artist offering a firm two fingers up to the idea of cool and resolutely dancing to the beat of their own entertainment-packed drum. The result, for the most part, is one of the most thrilling stadium shows of the year.”
