Charli XCX has shared an official video for ‘Speed Drive’, her recent single and contribution to the Barbie soundtrack.

On the track, released back in June, Charli sings: “Uh, uh, Barbie, you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind/Jump into the driver’s seat and put it into speed drive.

“Drivin’ through the streets, on a different frequency/Know you know just what I need, we’re runnin’ through the red lights.”

Watch the video, with a cameo from Sam Smith, below.

Producer Mark Ronson and Barbie writer-director Greta Gerwig curated the film’s soundtrack as the movie itself came together, and recruited the likes of Dua Lipa, Smith, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, HAIM and Tame Impala to contribute songs.

Reviewing the soundtrack, Rolling Stone UK wrote: “Barbie: The Album shines as a standalone collection because it doesn’t take itself too seriously, while also fully committing to the fuchsia-filtered, Barbie world blueprint that Gerwig, Ronson and the cast have created.

“Save for a couple of gentler respites, like Billie Eilish’s tender ‘What Was I Made For?’, the album calls you up onto your feet for that “giant blowout party with all the barbies” that we’ve been waiting for, and gestures you straight onto the dance floor.”
