Courtney Barnett has performed her latest single, ‘If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight’, on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ – tune in below.

The song appears on Barnett’s critically acclaimed new album, ‘Things Take Time, Take Time’. Barnett was joined on stage for the performance with Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, who helped to record the album with Barnett earlier this year.

The version of the song performed on the show had a faster tempo than the original album version – listen to it here:

‘If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight’ was the final single from Barnett’s latest album, following on from ‘Rae Street’, ‘Before You Gotta Go’ and ‘Write A List of Things To Look Forward To.’

When the track was released, Barnett said she’d had a change of heart about writing a love song, something she hadn’t done previously.

“I think my stance in the past was like, ‘There’s so many love songs and they don’t mean anything,’ but there’s something really special about zooming in on a moment and capturing it,” she explained. “[The song] comes from the state of where my head was at – trying to communicate honestly instead of keeping guarded.”

Barnett is currently out on a North American tour, which began at the end of last month and now runs until mid-February.

On her return from the US, Barnett will tour her home country of Australia next March.

A new documentary about Barnett, Anonymous Club, will also be released in March 2022.
