Little Simz is the 2025 Fashion Awards Cultural Innovator of the Year
The 2022 BRIT Awards-winning musician will be recognised as a leading innovator and image maker at the Royal Albert Hall
British musician Little Simz is no stranger to receiving her flowers. The critically acclaimed artist, who has already clinched the BRIT Awards 2022 Best New Artist and the prestigious Mercury Prize, is now adding a new trophy that celebrates her influence beyond music: the Fashion Awards 2025 Cultural Innovator of the Year.
Taking place on 1 December at Royal Albert Hall, the British Fashion Council (BFC) fundraiser celebrates the fashion moments of the year while raising vital funds that aid UK fashion talent through education, grants, and mentoring. Presented by Pandora the star-studded event, hosted by Coleman Domingo, honours the creative individuals and brands who’ve shaped 2025.
Little Simz recognition cements her status as a creative force whose unique style and vision are powerfully shaping both music and fashion. This year she was the youngest curator of the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival, following in the footsteps of David Bowie and Grace Jones.
“Little Simz is a generational voice whose work expands culture itself,” says BFC chief executive Laura Weir. “She is fearless in her creativity, uncompromising in her honesty and endlessly inventive in the way she brings music, fashion and storytelling together.”
A front row fixture at fashion week and cover star for British Vogue, Dazed and The Face, the “Young” singer’s bold style transcends her innovative sound. From boundary-pushing tailoring to flamboyant streetwear, her style and commanding presence have cemented her status as a cultural visionary.
As the biggest celebration of British fashion, Little Simz’s award underscores the crossover between fashion and culture. While her status as a fashion force was already undeniable, recognition by the BFC celebrates her as a trendsetter shaping fashion and music. With her history of risk-taking, all eyes will be on the Royal Albert Hall carpet to see who she’ll be wearing.
