Stone Island takes over The Corner Shop with rare pieces from its collector community

SELECTED WORKS ’982-’026 STONE ISLAND: THE COLLECTOR SERIES brings the brand’s archive and community to Selfridges London

By Joshua Graham

Few brands have cultivated a community as fervent as Stone Island. And it’s easy to see why. Since 1982, its research-driven approach has seen the brand continually push the boundaries of technical outerwear, creating garments that inspire the kind of obsession usually reserved for rare art. With superstar collectors including Dave and Drake, Stone Island has become as much a collector’s pursuit as it is a fashion brand.

Now, Stone Island is bringing its archive to life with the help of its global community of collectors. Taking over The Corner Shop at Selfridges London, the pop-up goes beyond shopping, giving visitors the chance to explore the brand’s history through the eyes of those who have collected it.

“Stone Island has never existed only through the garments we create,” says Stone Island CEO and President Robert Triefus. “Its culture has also been shaped by the people who discover, wear, preserve and reinterpret them. THE COLLECTOR SERIES brings those voices to the forefront, offering a unique perspective on the brand through the experiences and personal histories of collectors around the world”.

The six-week installation brings collector archives together with the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, tracing more than four decades of Stone Island’s history.

“Stone Island doesn’t try to be a brand for everyone, but at the same time, there is always a piece for everyone,”

Selected archival garments will be available to purchase, with their provenance and individual stories highlighted throughout the presentation. Alongside these, the takeover will feature Selfridges-exclusive products, offering a mix of rare archive pieces and new-season Stone Island.

For superfans of the brand, the installation will allow them to see rare pieces up close like the SS ‘993 REFLECTIVE JACKET and the AW ‘989-‘990 ICE JACKET THERMOSENSITIVE FABRIC.

“One of the reasons I love Stone Island so much is purely just because of the fabric focus, and it’s the idea that the fabric is key and the jacket comes second, which I think is really interesting,” says London-based archivist Louis Holsgrove. “It doesn’t try to be a brand for everyone, but at the same time, there is always a piece for everyone.”
