Beabadoobee has recorded new versions of tracks from her album Beatopia for the launch of Apple Music’s Antidote Editions.

The singer-songwriter has reworked ’10:36’, ‘See You Soon’ and ‘The Perfect Pair’ from her second album, which is out today (July 15), for an exclusive edition. She has also covered The Strokes‘ ‘The Adults Are Talking’.

Other acts are booked to bring to life Apple Music’s Alternative playlist ‘Antidote’ by performing refreshed versions of their songs as well as selected covers.

An accompanying radio interview with Apple Music 1 host Matt Wilkinson airs today at 12.30pm BST to coincide with the Antidote Editions launch and Beabadoobee‘s album release. You can listen to the interview on The Matt Wilkinson Show here.

Behind-the-scenes footage is also available to watch below on Rolling Stone UK.

Beabadoobee said: “So much love to the Apple Music team for all of the support since I’ve started! Sooo happy to be able to chat with Matt about ‘Beatopia’ and beyond, I hope you all love it :)”

Wilkinson added: “Antidote is my favourite playlist on Apple Music, so to take it to the next level with our first live session is a dream come true. Beabadoobee’s stripped back recordings at Platoon’s studio really captured how powerful her new album ‘Beatopia’ is, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what she and Jacob made on the day!”

Beatopia is the follow-up to her 2020 debut album Fake It Flowers and last year’s Our Extended Play EP.

In an interview about the album earlier this year Beabadoobee said that every song on the new record “is in a whole different world”, adding: “I’ve never made such different songs in one piece of music before.

“It’s the first time where every single song you just can’t compare it to anything else from the record. There’re some songs where it’s just me and some songs where it’s very heavy. We reference a lot of music we were listening to at the time, Jacob [Bugden – guitarist] and I.”

The artist also heads out on her biggest UK and Ireland headline tour to date in October, starting in Dublin and wrapping at London’s 02 Brixton Academy. See dates and buy tickets here.
