Harry Styles is set to deliver a special performance in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge next week.

The former One Direction singer, whose third solo album Harry’s House arrives tomorrow (May 20), will record a live session for the station next Tuesday (May 24). He’s due to play his recent single ‘As It Was’ as well as two as-yet-unreleased tracks from his new record: ‘Late Night Talking’ and ‘Boyfriends’.

Additionally, Styles will treat Radio 1 listeners to a “very special cover” that remains under wraps. He’ll perhaps return the favour to Arcade Fire, who recently put their own spin on ‘As It Was’ as part of a recording for BBC Radio 2.

Fans can tune into Styles’ return to the Live Lounge from 11am BST on BBC Radio 1 or via BBC Sounds. Check out the announcement post below.

Styles will take to the stage at the O2 Academy Brixton in London later that same day for his intimate ‘One Night Only’ concert, which comes ahead of the star’s UK and Ireland ‘Love On Tour’ dates next month. See his full live schedule here.

Last month, it was confirmed that Styles will headline the final day of Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2022 next Sunday (May 29).

‘As It Was’ broke Spotify’s single-day streaming record when it was released on April 1, having been played online 21.6 million times globally across its first 24-hour period (via Variety). The track went straight to Number One in the UK chart.

In a four-star review of the imminent Harry’s House – the follow-up to 2019’s Fine Line – Rolling Stone UK wrote: “All considered, it’s a strong and consistently impressive effort as Harry – with two Wembley Stadium dates on the horizon – finally embraces the solo stardom that was written in the stars when he was with One Direction.

“While not entirely ripping up the rule book, there’s enough of a progression and growth to please his fans and, in the process, welcome a fair few more to Harry’s House as a new era beckons.”
