Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi have collaborated for the first time on a new song called ‘Just Look Up’ – listen below.

The track appears in a new film, ‘Don’t Look Up’, which is due to land on Netflix on December 24. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet and Cate Blanchett.

‘Just Look Up’ was teased at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards last month. It written by Grande and Cudi along with the US composer and film producer Nicholas Britell who is known for scoring Barry Jenkins films (‘Moonlight’, ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’) as well as HBO’s ‘Succession’.

An official synopsis for ‘Don’t Look Up’ reads: “Kate Dibiasky (Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (DiCaprio) make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system.

“The problem – it’s on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? No one really seems to care. Turns out warning mankind about a planet-killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient fact to navigate.

“With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it’s too late proves shockingly comical — what will it take to get the world to just look up?!”

Meanwhile, Grande was recently cast in a forthcoming film adaptation of ‘Wicked’.

Grande will portray Glinda (the Good Witch) and Cynthia Erivo will play Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) in the Tony-winning musical helmed by ‘In the Heights’ director Jon M. Chu.

The adaptation has long been in the works, though it was stalled most recently by Stephen Daldry’s departure as director last October due to scheduling conflicts.

Stephen Schwartz, who penned the music and lyrics for the Broadway show, is adapting the screenplay with Winnie Holzman. It’s being produced by Marc Platt [via Variety].

In Cudi news, the artist has appeared on a new remix of Willow‘s ‘Transparent Soul’. The original version of the song is from the singer’s album, ‘Lately I Feel Everything’, which came out in July.
