Olivia Rodrigo has revealed that she is currently working on new music.

The singer-songwriter, whose debut album Sour came out in 2021, recently took to Instagram Stories to share a brief in-the-studio video.

In the black-and-white clip, we see Rodrigo head-banging along to some piano chords alongside her producer and collaborator Dan Nigro.

“Working on so many new songs I’m excited to show u,” the pop star wrote as a caption. “Thank u for everything.” Check out a screengrab of the post in the tweet below.

The update came just after Rodrigo acknowledged the two-year anniversary of her hit debut single ‘Drivers License’.

Last month, the singer said in a video for her Spotify Wrapped listeners that she was “so excited for next year and all of the new things and new music that 2023 will bring”, adding: “So I’m sending so much love your way and thank you again – bye!”

In February 2022, Rodrigo revealed to Billboard that she had a title for her second album and “a few songs” already in the bag. She also confirmed that she had reunited with Sour producer/co-writer Nigro for the project.

“I absolutely love working with Dan. We have such a good groove together,” Rodrigo told the outlet. We are always sharing ideas back-and-forth and have been carving out time to work together in the studio.

“The craziness of Sour being out in the world was something that really only Dan and I could relate to, and I think that has brought us closer together. I trust him so much and really enjoy the music we’ve been making.”

Over the summer, Olivia Rodrigo was joined on-stage by Natalie Imbruglia in London for a joint rendition of the latter’s seminal 1997 hit ‘Torn’. It came just days after Rodrigo covered the single during a surprise set at a bar in Manchester.
