A teenager has been sentenced for planning a bomb attack on Oasis‘ first comeback show last year.
McKenzie Morgan, 18, from Cwmbran, Torfaen, has been sentenced to 14 months behind bars at a young offenders’ institute after he pled guilty to possession of an al-Qaeda training manual.
The trial heard how Morgan was reportedly inspired by the fatal 2024 attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport, carried out by Axel Rudakubana.
Morgan had specifically planned to bomb the first night of the tour at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4, and reportedly said how Rudakubana had directly inspired the planned act.

The 18-year-old also reportedly planned to make the deadly toxin Ricin, as well as sending an image of a large knife to a friend and asking: “Would this work?”
Morgan was initially arrested on June 2, a month before the gigs, after police were contacted by someone concerned by his posts on Snapchat.
Though released on bail, Morgan’s phone was seized by police and they discovered the al-Qaeda documents, as well as images of Rudakubana and plans on how to carry out a knife attack.
He told police that he searched for the al-Qaeda manual himself and admitted a single charge of possessing a terrorist manual.
Rudakubana, who killed three children and injured ten others, was jailed at the start of last year and given a minimum prison sentence of 52 years.
