The Smile announce debut album ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’

The supergroup, which features Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, have also shared 'Free In The Knowledge'

The Smile, the side project of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, have announced details of their debut solo album as well as sharing new track ‘Free In The Knowledge’.

The group, which also features Son Of Kemet’s Tom Skinner, will debut ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’ on 13 May via XL Recordings.

Produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, the 13-track album features tracks with strings by the London Contemporary Orchestra and a full brass section of contemporary UK jazz players including Byron Wallen, Theon and Nathaniel Cross, Chelsea Carmichael, Robert Stillman and Jason Yarde.

It comes after the group previously debuted the tracks ‘Pan-Avision’, Skrting On The Surface‘, ‘The Smoke‘ and their debut single, ‘You Will Never Work In Television Again‘, which all arrived earlier this year. In February they also followed their debut live gigs with news of a further run of shows in May. They will kick off in Europe, with four UK shows including two at London’s Roundhouse. Tickets can be purchased here.
