Yungblud has said that he is ensuring there are gender neutral facilities at venues on his UK tour.

In a video shared to Twitter before a sold out show at Newcastle’s O2 Academy on Tuesday (October 12), he explained why it was important to him.

He says in the video: “It was really important to me that there would be gender neutral facilities on this tour, because I know how hard it is for non-binary people at gigs sometimes going to the toilet and stuff.”

He added: “That’s happening. Except for some reason Newcastle don’t want to comply.” He smacks his phone camera before continuing. “Get out the fucking dark ages, what the fuck?”

The video also featured a clip of him at the Newcastle venue in front of a sign that reads ‘Gender neutral toilet’.

“If the council have got a fucking problem with it, you talk to me,” he says.

He also captioned the video: “I WILL TRY MY BEST THAT EVERY YB SHOW TILL THE END OF TIME HAS GENDER NEUTRAL FACILITIES ! ily”

The Doncaster artist, real name Dominic Harrison, last week shared a video of him bringing a trans fan on stage who recently had top surgery.

Reported by Pink News, the singer hugged the fan at a recent Alexandra Palace performance, who then said into the microphone “I’m nine days post-op”, met by an eruption of applause.

The concert-goer showed their bare chest which still had fresh bandages applied, before Yungblud launched into his track ‘Life on Mars’.

In his Instagram caption, Yungblud wrote: “im so proud to belong to this family that shouts and screams in the name of equality , visibility , pride and love ! keep screaming everyday , i adore you all.”

The Yungblud ‘Life on Mars’ UK tour pauses in Liverpool this month before heading to shows in Luxembourg, Italy and Florida, resuming the tour in Glasgow this December.
