Sabrina Carpenter announces new album ‘Man’s Best Friend’
The follow-up to ‘Short n' Sweet’ includes the hilariously hypnotic ‘Manchild’

It’s officially the Summer of Sabrina (again). One week after returning with ‘Manchild’, Sabrina Carpenter has announced the new album Man’s Best Friend, out August 29 via Island Records.
Carpenter teased the album in an Instagram Live video on Wednesday morning, rifling through a stack of records by Donna Summer, ABBA, and Dolly Parton, before she landed on her own. She put Man’s Best Friend on the turntable, the camera pausing on the spicy cover.
Man’s Best Friend marks Carpenter’s seventh studio album, following 2024’s Short n’ Sweet (its deluxe edition, featuring a ‘Please Please Please’ duet with Dolly Parton, arrived in Feb. 2025). Carpenter released ‘Manchild’ on June 5, just two days before she headlined Primavera Sound in Barcelona, where the cheeky single made its live debut. It’s spent several consecutive days at No. 1 on Spotify’s US chart, hitting nearly two million streams.
“It sounds like the song embodiment of a loving eye roll and it feels like a never ending road trip in the summer!” Carpenter said upon the song’s release. “Hence why i wanted to give it to you now — so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long!”
Following Primavera Sound, Carpenter will continue performing outdoor shows and festivals this summer, starting with two nights at London’s Hyde Park on July 5 and July 6. She’ll hit Lollapalooza on Aug. 3, and both weekends of Austin City Limits on October 4 and 11. She’ll kick off another North American leg of the Short n’ Sweet tour this fall, which includes a return to Madison Square Garden for three shows and a trio of LA performances at Crypto.com Arena.
