Watch Wolf Alice bring energy to 2026 BRIT Awards with soaring rendition of ‘The Sofa’
The Rolling Stone UK cover stars crowned ‘The Clearing’ with a huge performance in Manchester tonight
Wolf Alice brought new album The Clearing to tonight’s BRIT Awards in Manchester – watch their performance of ‘The Sofa’ below.
The recent Rolling Stone UK cover stars are nominated for three awards at the Saturday night ceremony, including Album of the Year.
The band showed their live chops with a soaring performance of ‘The Sofa’ during the televised ceremony on a special set that included a living-room where dancers spilled out of a sofa.
Earlier in the evening, the band won the award for Best Group. Accepting, front woman Ellie Rowsell paid tribute to grassroots venues, saying: “We’d like to thank all the pubs, clubs and grassroots venues where we quite literally learned to play our instruments and write our songs. Thank you for opening your doors to us and thank you to those who continually fight to keep them open.”
“Despite the billions of pounds the live sector contributes to our economy, last year 30 independent venues closed down and 6000 jobs were lost and over half reported making no profit at all – it shouldn’t be a battle to survive as a band or any artist…it shouldn’t feel like a golden ticket but a viable career decision for anyone from any background.”

Olivia Dean was the big winner of the night with four wins including Album of the Year, while other winners included Sam Fender, Wolf Alice and Geese. You can see the full list of winners here.
Elsewhere on the night, other performances came from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, Rosalia, Alex Warren, Sombr and Mark Ronson, who also accepted the Outstanding Contribution to Music award. Robbie Williams fronted a special Ozzy Osbourne tribute to close the show with ‘No More Tears’.
