Lisa defies gravity in Nike’s Moon Shoe
The K-pop star puts a futuristic spin on a classic silhouette in a space-age campaign
Few stars have quite the gravitational pull of Lisa. Fresh off her Best Pop win at the VMAs for “Dream” featuring Kentaro Sakaguchi, the BLACKPINK star continues to prove that everything in her orbit demands attention.
Style is no exception. After partnering with Nike earlier this year, Lisa is stepping back into the Swoosh for its latest Nike Sportswear campaign, this time putting the Moon Shoe firmly in the spotlight.
And really, who better to take it for a spin? One of Nike’s earliest running silhouettes, the Moon Shoe brings the brand’s track heritage into the present with a sleek, low-profile shape designed for life beyond the starting line.

The shoe’s story stretches back to the early 1970s, when Nike co-founder and running coach Bill Bowerman was searching for a way to give athletes better traction without relying on traditional spikes. Inspiration famously struck at breakfast: spotting the grid of his wife’s waffle iron, Bowerman experimented by pouring urethane into it to create a lightweight sole with raised studs.
Shortly after, they appeared at the US Olympic athletics trials in Eugene, Oregon. Their distinctive footprints resembled those left by astronauts on the lunar surface, earning the design its Moon Shoe nickname.

Today’s Moon Shoe retains its retro nylon upper, leather Swoosh and signature Waffle outsole, preserving the stripped-back look of the original while positioning it as an everyday trainer.
With Lisa at the forefront, the Moon Shoe gets a new lease of life beyond the track. Bringing her own sense of style to the silhouette, she takes a piece of Nike running history firmly into the present and proves there’s still plenty of mileage left in it.
