Bloc Party have shared the official video for their latest single ‘Traps’ – see below.

The track will appear on the band’s sixth studio album ‘Alpha Games’, which is the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Hymns’, and is set for release on April 29, 2022.

Matching the urgent, guitar-heavy sound of ‘Traps’, its accompanying new visuals find Bloc Party delivering a riotous performance in a warehouse that’s packed to the rafters with fans.

Strobes flash through rapid close-up shots of the group as they play in front of a red-and-white light display. Later, Russell Lissack shreds on his guitar in the front seat of a car while chaos unfolds outside.

The ‘Traps’ video was directed by Alexander Brown (James Blake, La Roux) and produced by Ellis Fox (Rudimental). Watch below:

Speaking about the single previously, Kele Okereke explained: “From the moment we wrote ‘Traps’ we knew it had to be the first thing people heard from this album; playing it in soundchecks on our last tour before it was finished and hearing how it sounded in those big rooms and outdoors.”
